Winter shipping info

I have allot of people ask  why shipping is so much more during cold season .I hope this will make it easier to under why

This page is intended to help you understand ,the time, the material used ,the added weight  and what ever else it may take , to hopefully help your plants to have a save warm travel to there new homes

Most of the materials are new and they do cost money ,when ever possible I will reuse material's ,which are very spares

First I line the box with Styrofoam inserts ,depending on where the actual box is being shipped ,I will also add a layer of bubble wrap for extra insulation

African violets are wrapped with plastic to keep the sol from falling out ,then placed in Styrofoam cups ,secure by a stick or string ,the covered with more tissue and taped in place

Once all the plants are in place ,extra fiber glass  insulation is added around and on top ,the heat pack added (which on it's own will increase the weight by 8 oz )

The box then gets covered  with a lid

All these extra materials ,can add 1- 3 pounds to the  actual shipping which in return will increase the shipping cost by $3.00 -$5.00 if not more ,depending on where you live

Episcia Packing

Pretty much the same ,but they do get wrapped in roll insulation most of the time , to protect them a little more .

A lot of time they are shipped with 2 heat packs and a layer of bubble wrap for extra heat and protection
